A Partnership Formalized

A delegation from Renmin University visited the University of Minnesota on April 14, 2011. Lead by Renmin University President Ji Boacheng, the delegation also included Dean of the School of Philosophy Hao Lixin, Director of the International Office Tang Zhong, Director of the Office for University Assest Management and Secretary-General of the Xin-Ping Foundation Managing Committee Lin Jianrong, and Jiang Xiaoli of the School of Foreign Languages.

The main purpose of the visit was to sign a memorandum of understanding to formalize the strong connection the two institutions already have, but they also took time for the meeting with the following people:

  • Mimi Tung, director of development, college and campus programs, University Foundation
  • Meredith McQuaid, associate vice president and dean of international programs
  • Robert Jones, senior vice president for system academic administration
  • Fred Morrison and Khary Hornsby of the Law School
  • Kenneth Waters and Alan Love of the Dept of Philosophy

 

The delegation enjoyed their visit to campus and are looking forward to remaining connected and building the relationship as outlined in the signed memorandum of understanding.  This year brings two fantastic opportunities: the joint summer law program held on Renmin University’s and the return of delegation member Jiang Xiaoli as a Fulbright scholar this fall!

 

 

明尼蘇達大學與中國人民大學正式建立合作關係

2011年4月14日，中國人民大學代表團訪問了明尼蘇達大學。由人大校長紀寶成領隊，代表團成員包括人大哲學院院長郝立新，國際辦公室處長唐忠，資產與後勤管理處處長兼心平公益基金會秘書長林建榮，和外國語學院副教授江曉麗。

人大訪問團到訪的主要目的在兩校已有的密切合作關係基礎上，與明大簽署合作諒解備忘錄。此外，他們還會見了明大其他領導、教授與工作人員：

  • Mimi Tung，明大基金會學院與校園項目發展項目主任
  • Meredith McQuaid，明大副校長兼國際項目院长
  • Robert Jones，明大學術系統管理高級副校長
  • 明大法學院前院長Fred Morrison教授和法學院國際項目負責人Khary Hornsby，
  • 明大哲學系Kenneth Waters與Alan Love教授

 

代表團的明大訪問取得了圓滿成功，並希望本著諒解備忘錄的基本原則繼續保持和共建兩校之間的良好關係。今年將有兩次主要合作機會：明大法學院與人民大學合作的暑期法學項目；代表團成員江曉麗教授將於秋天以富布賴特學者身份回到明大！
