The Univeristy of Minnesota China Center and the Office of International Student and Scholar Services co-hosted the 2014 fall semester networking event for approximately 100 Chinese visiting scholars at Coffman Union on Saturday, September 27, 2014.
The China Center Executive Director Joan Brzezinski gave an openning remark to welcome the newly arrived scholars this year and to enoucrage everyone to learn more about the Univeristy of Minnesota's 100 years of education exchange history with China. Special guests to this event inlcude Mr. Zhao Weiping, the Chinese Consul General to Chicago, as well as Madame Qin Juhua, the Chinese Educaion Conselor to Chicago. Numerous university faculty members also attended this event.
Since its estalishment in 1979, the University of Minnesota China Center has been supporting and facilitating academic exchanges between the University faculty members and their counterparts from Chinese universities. Currently, the University and its colleges host approximately 100 Chinese visiting scholars and researchers each semester. The international experience inspires faculty members on both sides to conduct more productive academic research and more cross-disciplinary research findings.
