The Mingda Institute for Leadership Training welcomed ten leadership team members from the First People’s Hospital of Lanzhou for an Advanced Hospital Management Training Program at the University of Minnesota from June 24 - July 3, 2018.

The delegation's program was designed in collaboration with the University of Minnesota's Mingda Institute, and Dr. Jean Abraham, Wegmiller Professor of Healthcare Administration in the Division of Health Policy and Management and the director of the Master of Healthcare Administration program. The comprehensive curriculum included lectures and site visits, including two lectures from Dr. Abraham on the U.S. healthcare system, and the payment system in American hospitals. The delegation also received a lecture that presented an overview of medical care quality control in the U.S. from Dr. Schelomo Marmor, an assistant professor in the University's Department of Surgery.

During their stay, participants visited the University of Minnesota Health Clinics and Surgery Center, the Minnesota Department of Health, and the HCMC Richfield Clinic. One of the highlights of the program was a meeting with Dr. Mark Rosenberg, Vice Dean for Education and Academic Affairs at the University's Medical School, and included a visit to the AHC Simulation Center and a discussion on future cooperation.
