Kunming Medical University sent its first cohort of trainees to the University of Minnesota to attend a training symposium on the topic of Continuing Medical Education Management from December 12-14, 2013. Composed of hospital physicians also serving as executive-level university administrators, the six delegates hailed from Kunming city in southwestern Yunnan province in China. The delegates, whose hometown is known as the City of Eternal Spring, arrived in Minnesota in time to enjoy the typical Midwestern winter landscape of freshly fallen snow. They attended a series of lectures on continuing medical education coordinated by the China Center's Mingda Training Program. The second day of the program was spent participating in a workshop and tour of the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. At the conclusion of the program, the delegates expressed great interest in the symposium and declared their intention to send another group of trainees to the University of Minnesota in the future.
