The Mingda Institute hosted two “Best In Class Hospital Management” seminars with Medtronic in April and October 2017. The Mingda Institute partnered with Medtronic China and renowned hospitals in China to provide an innovative and rewarding experience for visiting scholars.
The delegations visited Medtronic headquarters in Minneapolis and the Minnesota Department of Health where they attended a presentation about “Health Care Policy for Insurance and Payment and Procedure.” Dr. Jean Abraham, professor in the Division of Health Policy and Management and director of the Master of Healthcare Administration Program at the University of Minnesota, delivered two lectures on the U.S. Healthcare System and U.S. Public Health Policy. The visiting group toured the Medtronic Bakken Museum and attended a lecture on “Historical Development of Cardiac Pacemakers and Other Devices” provided by the Museum. The goal of the “Best In Class Hospital Management” program is to provide exchange opportunities for distinguished scholars in public health in China and the U.S and to further research in public health.
