Chen Di, born in 1929 in Shixi, Zhejiang, later moved to Taiwan and graduated from Department of Electrical Engineering at Taiwan University in 1952. In 1954, Chen was enrolled in the University of Minnesota and received a master degree in electrical engineering in 1956, and then he received a doctoral degree from Stanford University in 1959.
After graduation, Chen returned to and taught Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Minnesota till 1962 when he started serving at Honeywell Research for eighteen years till 1980.
Chen was actively involved in Chinese community activities. In 1967, he played a critical role in establishing Chinese American Association of Minnesota (CAAM). Now CAAM has become the most influential Chinese community with the longest history in Minnesota. Now CAAM is still very active in promoting cultural exchanges between the U.S. and China, and participating in various social activities.
陈迪,1929年生于浙江石溪,后移居台湾,1952年毕业于台湾大学电机系,1954年来到明尼苏达大学并于1956年获得电子工程专业硕士学位,后来又于1959年在斯坦福大学获得博士学位。
毕业后,陈迪回到明尼苏达大学电子工程系任教。1962年他任职于霍尼韦尔至1980年。
陈迪积极参加明州华人社区活动。 1967年,他积极参与筹划并成立了明州中美联谊会(CAAM),现在CAAM成为明州历史最悠久并且最具影响力的华人团体,并仍然积极参与中美文化交流和社会各项活动。
