Jiang Lijin, who was born in 1919, graduated from Yanjing University in 1938, and then enrolled in Peking Union Medical College in 1941. She transferred to St. Johns University in Shanghai and then to Fu Jen Catholic University where she received a bachelor of science in chemistry in 1944 and a master’s degree in 1948. She came to the University of Minnesota in 1948 and received her doctorate in pharmaceutical chemistry in 1951. After graduation, Jiang was a research associate at the University of Kansas from 1951 to 1953, and then a research associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1953 to 1955. After Jiang returned to China, she was a professor at the Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences from 1956 until 1974 and then at the Institute of Photographic Chemistry, which was also a unit of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, from 1975 until her retirement.
Jiang was selected to serve as a member of 4th and 5th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and then a member of the standing committee of 6th, 7th, and 8th CPPCC. She received the Chinese Academy of Sciences National Science Award (second class) in 1990, 1993, and 1996. She published more than 200 articles in Chinese and international journals, and led the translation and publication of “Modern Molecular Photo-chemistry.”

蒋丽金,出生于1919年,1938年毕业于燕京大学,1941年入读北京联合大学医学院。随后她转学到上海圣约翰大学,后进入辅仁大学,1948年获硕士学位。毕业后,她进入明大,1951年获制药化学博士学位。蒋丽金1951-1953年在堪萨斯大学做助理研究员,1953-1955年在麻省理工大学做助理研究员。
1956年回国后至1974年,蒋丽金任中国科学研究院化学学院教授,1975年开始任中国科学研究院光化学学院教授,直至退休。
蒋丽金是第4届、第5届全国人民代表大会代表和政协委员,人民代表大会常任理事会第6届、第7届、第8届常委。她在1990年、1993年和1996年获得中国科学院国家二级科学奖。蒋丽金在国内外期刊上发表过200余篇论文,并出版译著《现代分子光化学》。
