John Zongyu Chen 陈宗禹

Chen Zongyu (John), who was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, graduated from Shanghai Medical University (now Fudan University Shanghai Medical College) in 1987. In 1993, Chen received a doctorate in microbiology from the University of Minnesota.

In 2013, Chen served as one of the coordinators for international affairs at the American Gastroenterological Association. He is a shareholder of the well-known private Minnesota Gastroenterology and also serves as a doctor for the organization. Chen played an essential role in the establishment of the bi-lingual online magazine “US-China Healthcare Information Exchange,” and serves as the chief editor.

Chen is actively involved in medical exchanges between the U.S. and China, having delivered many lectures in medical colleges and hospitals in China. He is one of the founding members of the Association of Minnesota Chinese Physicians and served as the second president of the organization. In addition, Chen is a visiting professor at the Medical Colleges of Fudan University and Zhejiang University, a writer for the “Chinese Journal Frontiers of Medical Science and China Health Human Resources,” which is published by China’s Ministry of Health. In addition, he was the associate editor of Fudan University’s textbook “Case Study in Internal Medicine – Bilingual Learning.”

陈宗禹医生 生于杭州,1987年毕业于上海医科大学(现复旦大学上海医学院)六年制英语班,1988年赴美国求学,在明尼苏达大学医学院取得微生物和免疫学博士。

2013年,陈宗禹担任美国消化协会(AGA, American Gastroenterological Association)国际事务理事会负责人之一。他目前任美国顶级消化医生团体 Minnesota Gastroenterology 消化专科医生 ,合伙人。此外,陈宗禹还是《美中医疗信息交流》(US-China Healthcare Information Exchange, USCHIE) 中英双语网络杂志及交流平台的发起人及主编、美国明尼苏达华人医生协会创始人之一及第二任会长、复旦大学医学院客座教授,浙江大学医学院客座教授。此外,陈宗禹为卫生部《卫生人才杂志》撰稿人、卫生部《医学前沿杂志》撰稿人、以及复旦大学精品教材《内科临床病例分析:双语学习》2005年人卫版 副主编。
