Li Ying-Chen 李荫桢

Li Ying-Chen, who was born in 1902 in Yongcheng, Henan province, received his bachelor of science from Southeastern University in 1927. Li enrolled at the University of Minnesota the next year, and received both his master of science and doctorate degrees in forestry in 1937.

Upon returning to China after graduation, Li taught and served as dean at Sun Yat-Sen University, Henan University, Sichuan University, and Beijing University successively. Later, Li taught at Sichuan Agricultural University and served as dean of the forestry department. In addition, Li served on the boards for the Chinese Society of Forestry, Sichuan Society of Forestry, and Sichuan Society of Ecology. Li was elected to be a representative of the 4th National People’s Political Consultative Conference.

李荫桢,1902年生于河南省永城县,于1927年获得东南大学理学学士学位,次年来到明尼苏达大学就读,并于1937年同时获得森林学专业的硕士和博士学位。

毕业回国后,李荫桢在先后任教于中山大学、河南大学、四川大学和北京大学,并同时担任各校森林系主任。后来,他担任四川农业大学林学系主任兼教授。此外,李荫桢曾任中国林学会理事会理事,四川省林学会理事会副理事长、名誉理事长,四川省生态学会第一届理事会理事长;他还曾当选第四届全国政协委员。
