Zou Zhonglin, who was born in 1897 in Jiangsu, received a bachelor’s degree in agronomy from Southeast University in 1929 and a master’s degree in entomology from the University of Minnesota in 1931. After he graduating from the University, Zou went to Cornell University for doctoral study, but due to financial crisis, he left before completing his degree.
Upon his return to China, Zou served as an associate professor and later the dean at the Department of Agriculture of China’s National Central University. In 1949, Zou became a professor at Nanjing University.
Zou has published several books that have been influential in the field of entomology including “Basic Entomology,” “Applied Entomology,” “ Orchard Pestology,” and “Insect Ecology.”

邹钟琳1897年生于江苏,1929年获东南大学农学学士学位,1931年获得明尼苏达大学昆虫学硕士学位。从明大毕业后,邹钟琳赴康奈尔大学攻读博士,后因经济危机提前回国。”
邹钟琳回国后,担任中国国立中央大学农学系副教授,后来任农学院院长。1949年,邹钟琳任南京大学教授。”
邹钟琳出版了数本专著,在昆虫学界颇具影响,其中包括《普通昆虫学》(1940)、《经济昆虫学》(1947)、《中国果树害虫学》(1958),和《昆虫生态学》(1980)。
