Hsu Chow, who was born in 1919 in Nantong, Jiangsu province, graduated from Zhejiang Medical College in 1938 and received a master’s degree in public health from the University of Minnesota 1949.
Upon returning to China after graduation, Hsu played an important role in establishing the Zhejiang Health Experimental Academy and served as dean of the Zhejiang Academy of Medicine.
Hsu has edited many textbooks and books about public health, and is considered a pioneer and leader in the field of preventative medicine.
徐陬，1919年生于江苏南通，1938年毕业于浙江医学高等专科学校，并于1949年获得明尼苏达大学公共卫生硕士学位。
毕业回国后，徐陬参与创建了浙江省卫生实验院，曾任浙江省医学科学院副院长、院长、顾问。
徐陬主编多种全国通用卫生学教材和科普读物，被视为预防医学学科领域的奠基人和带头人。
