Mr. Jim Harkness is a consultant on China, food systems, environment, and philanthropy with over 20 years of experience. Mr. Harkness’ work focuses on building connections and understanding between China by promoting environmental sustainability, food security, and equitable development in China and the United States. His current clients include the Climate and Land Use Alliance, Environmental Grantmakers Association, and Ford Foundation. Mr. Harkness has spent over 16 years living and working in China. He formerly served as president of the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy.
