The China Center supports alumni in Minnesota and in China in many ways, including through events, social media, awards, and more.
China Office in Beijing
The University of Minnesota China Office was established in Beijing in 2009 as the institution’s first office abroad. One of the focuses of the office is on alumni relations:
- Improve the alumni network for the thousands of University graduates who live in Greater China
- Provide services to alumni in China by working closely with University of Minnesota Alumni Association chapters in China
- Host events and activities in Mainland China to provide alumni with opportunities to increase their social and professional network
- Disseminate regular communications to alumni in China so that they can stay connected with the University community

Distinguished Chinese Alumni
The China Center created the Distinguished Chinese Alumni Award to highlight and honor the outstanding accomplishments of the University's Chinese alumni. Read about past recipients or nominate a deserving alumnus.
University of Minnesota Alumni Association
The University of Minnesota Alumni Association is dedicated to connecting alumni, students, and friends in lifelong support of the University of Minnesota and each other. The UMAA has alumni chapters in Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Taipei, and Hong Kong.
