The China Center’s Mingda Institute for Leadership Training successfully hosted the third group from the city of Lanzhou. The Second People’s Hospital of Lanzhou City completed the 10 day program for Advanced Hospital Management Training. The 10 delegates consisted of surgeons, physicians, and key administrative staff from the hospital.
The University of Minnesota Mingda Institute for Leadership Training designed this program in collaboration with Dr. Jean Abraham, Wegmiller Professor of Healthcare Administration in the Division of Health Policy and Management and the director of the Master of Healthcare Administration program. The program curriculum included lectures from UMN faculty and site visits that helped the delegates develop an in-depth understanding of hospital management in the U.S. Some highlights included a lecture given by Dr. Ryan Armbruster on innovation and human-centered design and Dr. Kathleen Harder of the Center for Design in Health on safe surgery processes.
In addition, participants visited the Hennepin County Specialty Center, University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital, and UMN Clinics and Surgery Center.
