Cheng Ling Tsai 郑玲才

Master of Public Health, 1949

Cheng Ling Tsai, who was born in 1917 in Sichuan province, graduated from Guiyang Medical College in 1944. Cheng was enrolled in the University of Minnesota in 1948 and received a master’s degree in public health in 1949.

After Cheng returned to China, he served as the director of the Yunnan Epidemic Prevention Station, dean of Public Health at Kunming Medical College, vice president of Chinese Medical Association Yunnan branch, and as a member of the World Health Organization Expert Consultation and the 7th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

Cheng published more than 20 academic articles and co-edited “Management of Epidemic Prevention Station”. He also led and co-translated the “Handbook of Planned Epidemic Prevention,” published by the World Health Organization.

郑玲才,1917年生于四川省,1944年毕业于贵阳医学院医疗系。1948年来明尼苏达大学公共卫生学院学习,并于1949年获得公共卫生学硕士学位。

回国后,郑玲才历任云南省卫生防疫站站长、昆明医学院卫生系主任、中华医学会云南分会副会长、世界卫生组织专家咨询团成员、全国政协第七届委员。

郑玲才发表学术论文20余篇,合编有《卫生防疫站管理》,并组织翻译了世界卫生组织出版的《计划免疫手册》等。
