Johnson Yang-Seng Luh, from Shanghai, received a bachelor’s degree from la Universitato Utopia in 1947. In 1950, Luh received a master degree from Harvard University and in 1963, he received a doctoral degree in electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota.
After graduation, Luh became a professor at Clemson University in South Carolina till his retirement. In 2002, Luh received the Outstanding Achievement Award from the University of Minnesota.

毕业后，Luh于南卡罗来纳州的克莱姆森大学任教授。2002年，他获得明尼苏达大学颁发的杰出成就奖章。
